Premium Fragrance House
Roy Halston Frowick was born in 1932 in Iowa, USA. At 25, he launched his first fashion store in Chicago, adopting the logo "Halston" which became synonymous with his brand. In 1961, he gained fame for his iconic hat designs, including the legendary "Pill Box" hat worn by Jacqueline Kennedy at her husband's inauguration. Halston expanded his brand internationally in 1975/1976 with the introduction of his fragrances in Germany, distributed by Revlon. The collection included the timeless "Halston Cologne" for women, known for its warm oriental finish, as well as men's scents "Halston 1-12" and "Halston Z 14". The success of these fragrances led to a diverse range of at least 15 different products per scent, catering to the perfume and body care culture. Aside from fragrances, Halston's appeal also stemmed from the unique bottle designs and presentation of the care products, which gained a cult following in the mid to late 70s. Collaborating closely with Elsa Peretti, Halston launched "Halston Night" in 1980 and "Halston 101" in 1983, further solidifying his brand's influence. Although the Halston trend waned in Europe by the mid to late 80s, the brand remained a staple in American fashion. Halston passed away in 1990 due to an immune disease, but his legacy and fragrances endure, albeit in a more limited range.
